About Me

Hello to all Anne Frank Science Students!

This is going to be an exciting year of learning science and having fun at the same time!  I am so excited to be teaching at AFIA this year!

I can't wait to get to know all of you, but first, I wanted to give you some background information about me.

After I graduated from UTSA and the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Nursing, I became a registered nurse. I loved being a pediatric RN, but wanted to teach children, so I went back to school. I became a science teacher when my oldest daughter was born fifteen years ago because I LOVE SCIENCE!! I wanted to be able to share my appreciation for all the neat things the universe has in it! We all can find something having to do with science in just about anything. Science is everywhere. This year, I hope you will enjoy learning about science as much as I do.

Some other things I really enjoy are spending time with my husband, John, and my two daughters, Makayla and Delaney, and other friends and family. I also like traveling, going fishing, cooking, making homemade soaps and lotions, playing board games, and watching TV and historical movies. I love the Pirates of the Caribbean movies and I am a fan of Despicable Me and, of course, the minions. I have two daughters, eleven and fifteen years old, who love to do crafts, go fishing, and play with our pets. (They will also agree to watch POTC movies with me when I want to.)  We have two dogs named Sassy Poo, a maltipoo, and Coconut, a bichon frise. We have THREE cats named Einstein, Elf, and Emmaheart. Their pictures are here.
